Camping La Roche Canillac
Our campsite is located in the beautiful hilly, wooded area of Corrèze, on the swimming and fishing lake ‘Etang de Laborde’ (non-surveillé) and has one of the cleanest skies in Europe.
About the campsite
The 30 pitches are spacious, with different height levels and are surrounded by beautiful trees. This gives the campsite its own atmosphere that feels playful and spacious. It is a quiet nature campsite with both shady and sunny spots. The campsite has six mini-chalets, one large mobile home and eight chalets for rent. Our campsite and its surroundings are ideal for peace seekers, nature lovers, activity lovers and for families who like a small campsite without entertainment. Children can play old-fashioned here without getting bored. Building huts, climbing, swimming, making performances, playing football, table tennis, cycling, playing with friends and you name it!
On our own grounds there is a fire place, a small football field, a tennis court, a table tennis table and you can play bowls. In the central square we have created a natural playground with hills and tubes, guaranteeing hours of fun. The campsite has two sanitary buildings with sufficient toilets and showers, you can also use a washing machine. During the summer months we offer a bread service, there is also wifi available. Pets are welcome, provided they are vaccinated and dogs are kept on a lead.
PLEASE NOTE: We have an ecological septic tank. The toilets of campers and caravans can be emptied PROVIDED that an eco/organic product is used.
Surroundings
Nature and tranquillity can be found in the immediate surroundings. The landscape is characterised by beautiful hills, large forests, numerous lakes and rivers. For peace seekers and nature lovers, this is an ideal setting. You can walk through the woods here for hours without meeting anyone. From the campsite it is possible to take the most beautiful walks. For an active holiday in the middle of nature, you can also go here. The area is excellent for (electric) cycling, cycling and mountain biking. At reception, we have several walking and cycling routes available.
The village of La Roche-Canillac looks fairytale-like. Built on a hill surrounded by the meander of the Doustre river, the village consists of Roche-Haute on the edge of the plateau and Roche-Basse, 50 metres lower down. Some beautiful, narrow streets date back to the 9th century.
Twenty minutes away is the Château Sédières. Here you can visit various exhibitions and (art) performances. Every summer several music festivals are organised here. The castle is situated in the middle of the woods and next to a large lake. You can go fishing, hiking and there are several bicycle/mountain bike trails with different levels of difficulty.
The towns of Tulle and Argentat as well as the Murel and Gimel waterfalls are well worth a visit and are just under half an hour from the campsite. A bit further away, a (small) hour’s drive, are the sights; Brive-la-gaillarde, Collonges-la-Rouge, Tours de Merle, Uzerche, Gouffre la Fage and Gouffre de Padirac.
Recreation
Swimming, playing tennis, hiking, climbing, horse riding, cycling, mountain biking, cycling, canoeing, kayaking, canyoning, supping and enjoying the peace and nature are among the possibilities. Ask about the possibilities at reception, we have plenty of tips! : )
There is a market in the area almost every day. In the village, La Roche-Canillac, there is a small epicerie, where you can go for your daily shopping, there is also a small terrace. In high season there is a market with local products on Friday afternoons, in low season first Friday of the month.
